![]() Actually the $60 fee is not entirely accurate. It looks to me like you pay a $29 fee to get the SIM card and use it for a year. You are charged after each call, not prepaid. If you do not use at least $60 of calls during that year, they charge you a $60 fee to continue using the SIM and keep the number. Or for another $29 you then can get a new SIM and a new number. I have used an EKIT Passport SIM and their prices are higher and they use a small connection fee. And they charge for a SIM too. Passport however has free incoming calls in many places.
Here's the wording on that $60 fee. "Your SIM card line is activated for one year from the date that we shipped it to you. The service will automatically renew at no extra cost provided that within the 12 month period you have made $60 worth of line usage*. If you did not reach that usage amount after the 12 months, then we will contact you and will offer you either to renew the line for $29 or to disconnect your service. Note: If we disconnect the service and you would like to renew it at a later date, you will be assigned a new number and will not be able to keep the same cell phone number that you previously used." |
