![]() Hello,
Data on US-networks is (still) quite expensive. Not for the iphone, but for a connection via Huawei-USB-Modem stick, I did the following: I went to an (real!) AT&T store and asked for a prepaid SIM. Just the SIM, w/o a phone. Then I asked to put the 200 MB option on it. It took a while, then I got a SIM (for free) and the 200 MB activated. It was 19.99$ + tx. Data is working with these settings: APN: wap.cingular No user, no pw needed Skype is working, too! With a E160 I get connected to the UMTS network, HSPDA is working, too! |

![]() Keep in mind that iPhones do only work on AT&T's 3G network, as all other American 3G networks are either on frequency bands unsupported by the iPhone or use a completely different radio technology (CDMA). You will still have 2G-coverage on GSM networks (AT&T and T-Mobile), but bandwidth will be < 200 KBit/s.
