![]() I like the Sierra Voq Professional Edition V11 Unlocked Smart Phone that works on 850/1800/1900 MHz frequencies. I would like to use the phone on a pre-pay provider here in the Rio Rancho/Albuquerque New Mexico area. Basicly I do not know what to do from this point. Is it as simple a purchasing a low end GSM phone and switching cards to my prefered phone? I apreciate the assistance. I have not needed a mobil phone for some time now. :help:

![]() If the phone is unlocked and you have the a GSM service provider in your area, you should be able to pick up an activated prepaid SIM or an activation kit on Ebay or at your local provider. It will be cheaper on Ebay if you can stand the risk. As you write, put the SIM card in, it should register on the provider's network and away you go. If you have T-MO service, you should be able to switch the area code to one suitable for you.
HOWEVER, in my house I have T-MO SIMs with the following area codes: 804 VA wife's prepay 775 NV my postpay -- brother in NV 818 CA son's prepay 414 WI prepay -- was to be for my mom in WI, but she died. All phones/SIMs work fine. Stan Service: US T-MO post paid (2) - US T-MO prepaid (2) - UM+ - TravelSIM DE SIMYO - DE SUNSIM T-Mobile DE Calling Cards: Onesuite Enjoyprepaid AT&T MCI Mobivox |

![]() Here is a list of all US and Canadian prepaids:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=824482 Some, like T-mobile, have SIM only packs, others do not (or you could finagle a SIM only pack at a corporate store) Have a look at the list - pretty much are all up for grabs - except Net10 and TracFone Current Prepaid: None ![]() Older Prepaid: AT&T wireless; TracFone; Telestet; Vodafone GR; Fido; SFR; T-mobile US; Tuyo, Cosmote Postpaid: at&t |
