Update: with Nokia e65 the phone crashes and resets (like with the e61 someone told before) trying to make any call.
With SE Z610 all works quite well (too many pop-ups on the screen, but it works), while with SE K600i only 1 outgoing call works, then nothing else, incoming calls don't work.

Really BIG compatibility issues...

My UM+ works almost perfectly on RAZR V3: the only problem is about displaying the credit expiry date. I can make and receive calls and make and receive sms.
I think things go better with brand new cards than upgrades from UM +423.

The most important news is that now there is no more any message of non-existing number if I call UM+ with the phone swirched off: now there is a strange sound...not the best, but better than before!

The customer care answered my later mail, saying they were applying to solve that problem, then advised me to use the sim menu to make outgoing calls with the 6510. What is annoying, is that I had reported that I wasn't able to make outgoing calls even with the sim menu...I wonder if they have read my mail carefully...

I now get that on my new UM+ -- it sounds to me like a slow busy signal but with every other tone a slightly higher pitch. Still get "invalid number" on the upgraded UM+ (whether phone is on or off).

I also now can receive SMS on both. One funny thing -- when I first turned on the UM+ upgrade it said "AT&T" as the network name. The new UM+ says "Cingular." At some point the AT&T switched to Cingular and now I can receive SMS's -- probably a coincidence, but who knows

I am thankful that I didn't xfer my balance from the +423 card!

Whole bunch of SIMs, mostly dead, some still working...

My my upgrade-UM+ now also has this strange two-tone signal when unavailable since it has been reactivated.

What's probably happening here is that it's changed from using one network to the other. Some time ago Cingular (PacBell) sold part of their network in California to T-Mobile. I beleive this network has been running with the old PacBell MNN which may show up on most phones as Cingular. ITMT, Cingular is also running a different network in California with their regular MNN. It's all very confusing because the name comes out of a lookup table in the phone and if the company changes its name (e.g. ATT => Cingular => ATT) the phone does not know about it. OTOH, the name shown for a SIM's home network can be changed by an OTA update.

Yes. The voicemail problem will not be fixed for about 1 - 2 months. Here is the response I received below. So, with the very inconsistent caller ID and no VM, it makes it not a very good option even if one leaves the phone on 24/7. Callers from the US expect to hit voicemail when you do not answer, out of coverage, etc.

At least some kind of system message that the person is not answering or so would have been better. It's obvious that UM rushed it to the market. I guess they figured, as already mentioned, that their profits were eroding quickly with that +423 number and they had to act quickly.

Thank you very much for your inquiry.

We are sorry to must tell you that the voicemail for the United Mobile+ UK SimCard will be available first in one or two month.

If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Yours sincerely

In Southern France UM+ subscribors were again unavaliable yesterday and I heard the bitone all the time, when trying to call them.

They should call it "free betatest" instead of "free upgrade" on their website.

I've called to CS, 5 minute to reactivate the 2 sim card, they have a lot of work (maybe a lot of not well activated sim), so they not answer the mails, but works a lot on call center.
So who want to be reactivated the sim, must call, at this moment.
