![]() Hi,
I purchased a Riiing SIM last summer, and foolishly didn't try it out until the day before I left. I inserted it into my unlocked v600, and it said that I must 'Insert SIM', which is the message given if the phone can't physically recognize the SIM is present. So, we left for Europe, and I was forced to pay for a T-Mobile Deutschland SIM. However, when I was there, I tried the SIM in the unlocked phones of German friends, and they all displayed "SIM einstecken". Fast forward to the end of April, and I now have an unlocked Razr. I ordered another Riiing SIM, thinking maybe the other one was bad, but I'm having the same problem. I purchased both from call4t on eBay (100% rating, and I've seen many others praise them online), and they are as confused as I am. Any ideas? Thanks. postpaid: US: T-Mobile prepaid: DE: Fonic, Tchibo |

![]() Why don't you call or write them; calling is maybe best option -- watch time difference however -- already past normal working hours there. They will probably work with you. I have purchased several items from them. It IS possible you have 2 bad/defective SIM cards. They MAY be willing to send you 2 replacement SIMs; I can't speak for them. I think they would like to retain their 100% feedback.
Dumb question.... you have tried a foreign SIM in your phones, correct? They all allow the phone(s) to boot up, correct? In other words, you are sure the RAZR is unlocked, right? If it was originally from T-MO, I recommend trying a NON-T-MO SIM. Nowadays, many T-MO phones will boot with a T-MO German SIM.... that is not truly unlocked. Good luck. ![]() Very likely the sim. My first riiing sim (laying around somewhere in the house) displayed the same thing in both my V551 and 3120. I knew it had to be the sim, so I ordered another one and it worked without any problems in both phones. I'll have to look for the defective sim and see if I can get a refund from riiing.

I have tried Lithuanian and Estonian SIMs in my cell, and both work just fine, so I'm sure my phone is unlocked. Also, if you insert a SIM into a locked Moto phone, it gives you a different error. postpaid: US: T-Mobile prepaid: DE: Fonic, Tchibo |

![]() But you know more now than you did before.
1. The first SIM purchased > a year ago would NOT work in other unlocked phones, even in Europe. 2. The second SIM, recently purchased, will also not work in your phone, whereas other foreign SIMs do work. Yes, you did lose some leverage by giving feedback before you tried out the SIM. I would write them or call and see if they will not send you at least ONE REPLACEMENT for free. They are currently offering on Ebay the ECOWORLD SIM starting @ $9.99. You could offer to return the SIM cards. Try it. In German and English. Short and sweet. You bought 2 cards from them in the last year or so and BOTH seem to be defective and you have never used them; give them the numbers. You erroneoulsy gave premature positive feedback. How can they compensate you? You'd be glad to return the defective cards or can they refund your money or will they test and send you a card or two that DO work? Good luck.
