![]() It would appear that eKit is changing/refreshing its SIM cards. In the last few weeks on ebay and as of today[?] on its web site the SIMple Calling SIM card will work ONLY in the US and Canada. The connection charge will be 39cents [instead of 50cents]. It seems to have a UK number. The per minute charge for the US is 9cents and for Canada 19cents. It says AT&T, T-Mobile and Rogers [in Canada] are its networks.
BTW: the V4D quad-band dual-SIM phone is a nice simple phone if you need that kind of thing. I post here rather than in the America's section because it would be better to know that it does NOT work globally in this section here and accidently buy one, than in the America's section, where you would assume it would work anyway. |

![]() Does that mean that the current card will no longer work globally? I just used mine in Nigeria last week, for about 2 weeks.
Sim cards: AT&T (Contract), 3 UK, Piranha Mobile |

Also 3 dual IMSI SIMple Calling SIMs. Nothing seems to have changed with them. Wish I could get the 39cent rather than 50cent connection charge, though. |

![]() It seems that eBay seller ekitmobileusa is tweaking the prices on ebay for the various items they are selling. Mostly raising them four or five dollars. The prices on the phone + SIM combos have not all changed, though.

but on ekit.com there does not currently show any such SIM for 'North America'. Also, I have ordered one of the new SIM [with a dual band phone] on ebay and will report later about it in the Americas section. |

![]() This seemed to be the best international thread to make people aware of this.
I just purchased on ebay a US SIMple Calling Plus Service SIM card. When I went online to activate the US number [the UK number is already active] I happened to look at recharge and they offered among others a $10 bonus if you recharged $10. I have never seen this before and after you use it it is gone. I do not know how long it lasts if unused. Not many chances to double your money these days. Under billing it referred to the bonus as a Refcode Bonus. I did not knowingly do anything to get it. So if you get an ekit SIM card, make sure you check to see if such a bonus exists. If it is an international SIM card and the bonus exists, could you mention it here? thanks I got the SIM card because it is for the USA, Canada and Mexico. [The SIM at the top of this thread was just US & Canada.] |

![]() .58 for first minute but at .09 after that it is reasonable for me to call Canada from the USA compared to a lot of prepaids.
The data is atrocious because it's not just that price per MB but any portion of it. Don't ask how I found out. No prorating or fractions of data and customer service acted like "What's the problem?"!!!! ![]() And yes voice mail is free, which is unusual. |
