i have a smartphone and use wifi tethering when needed.
You can use all data options on all true SIM cards, so you can buy the one for cheapest calls and just activate the day package as well... There are 2 day packages: 39 THB = unlimited EDGE 49 THB = unlimited EDGE + a few hours on wifi hotspots to activate send D1 or D2 by sms to 9789 Chris Thailand: truemove (phone+sms+wifi) International: xxSim+372, toggle +44/+49/+41/+31 Phones: Huawei Mate7, Huawei P9 |

As the wifi hotspots are mostly totally overloaded you can also take the 39 THB version and forget about the wifi. I found that EDGE was often faster than the wifi... arrrThailand: truemove (phone+sms+wifi) International: xxSim+372, toggle +44/+49/+41/+31 Phones: Huawei Mate7, Huawei P9 |

yes, their website is more or less useless... Just SMS D1 instead of D2 and you will get the 39THB package. They will be able to show you a complete price list only in the TRUE shops (and only after lengthly discussions)...

Interesting thread...good info.
I will be visiting Bangkok next week as well and I was interested in finding out a few options: 1. I have a I9020T from Samsung(Nexus S)...which only operates on 3G on 900 / 1700 / 2100 MHz UMTS...Will I be able to receive 3G on either AIS/DTAC/Tru? 2. I also have an ASUS TF101 which doesnt have a sim card capability...so I need a portable WIFI solution as well...looks like AIS has a Pocket WIFI which offers this---any other options? I dont want to be stuck with EDGE or with HotSpots for sure. Thanks for the info. K |
