If you use a 3G phone with 2100MHz you will use 3G too, I think there should be no problem.

Wind Canada uses 1700Mhz to transmit and 2100Mhz to recieve. Those are the only frequencies they use. They have no GSM frequencies but the phones they sell usually work on the GSM frequencies as well.
