Country: | 13-03-2010, 10:46 The K3565, which in fact is a Huawei E160X, is unlocked (at least if bought in Germany). However the dashboard software in the flashmemory of the K3565, "Vodafone Mobile Connect", won't establish data sessions with third party SIM cards. So there is no lock in the device itself, but the dashboard software is restricted. Now what you need to do is simply running a dashboard update which will replace that Vodafone software by Mobile Partner. You'll find download links at Huawei E160 (E160G, E160E, E160X, K3565) - 3G modem wiki (try the official update from 27-May-2009 and if that fails try the inofficial version - the last time I tried it only the inofficial version worked). postpaid: O2 on Business XL; prepaid: DE: Aldi Talk, Lidl; UK: 3; BG: MTel, vivacom; RU: MTS; RS: MTS; UAE: du Tourist SIM; INT'L: toggle mobile VoIP: sipgate.de (German DID); sipgate.co.uk (British DID); ukddi.com (British DID); sipcall.ch (Swiss DID); megafon.bg (Bulgarian DID); InterVoip.com |

Country: | 05-05-2010, 17:44 Many thanks for the info! I've managed to unlock E160 (initially locked for Play, Poland) and E870 (Orange, Poland), both without any problems. |

Country: | 06-07-2010, 16:27 Jervin - go to Online Huawei Modem Unlock Calculator, enter IMEI number of your USB stick (you will find this at the back of it), enter the security code (re-type the number shown on the website) and press Calculator. You should get a set of numbers in red colour, from which you need Unlock. Once you have done this you need to place a sim card that comes from another provider into your E160 USB stick. Now depending on your software you either will be asked for an unlock code (which is the above mentioned Unlock) just after starting your ordinary software that you use for estabilishing a connection to the internet (obviously you need to plug in your USB stick first) or should use an alternative method described on the mentioned website as How to enter code. I hope this helps. |
