It's good for 3 reasons
-low cost for outgoings calls
-without set-up fee
-gprs capabilities, even if it's a bit expensive

Not good for incoming calls, free only in EU

It's not true. In US you pay again incoming calls: http://gt-sim.de/download/sim/PriceList_eng.pdf

When they actually have free incoming calls in USA, together perhaps with other providers who have been promising cheap roaming (but not free), I'm sure people will be pleased to try it out.

Until then, there's not much point in asking us what we think of the call quality there, or pretending [post #3] that it's already available

Other global SIMs already have ways to get cheap roaming in USA, involving call forwarding and a local SIM, or it's quite easy for people to set up cheap forwarding themselves

That's similar to what they said when I got a GT-sim in 2005: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/gt-sim-t706p6.html (they claimed it would be reduced in Feb 2006). Never happened that time. Believe it when you see it (and if they sustain it for more than a promotional period), otherwise just vapourware.

GT-SIM now offers a SIM package including a Quad-Band-GSM phone for 99,95 Euro including 100 Euro of call credit.
Might be interesting for some people here.
