![]() Does any has a good idea, about a good prepaid-card in Guatemala? Doesn't matter if its a local prepaid or a global one. I personally need it for about 6 weeks in Guatemala, and I will mainly call US and German Numbers and will be called from German Phone-Numbers...
Thanks in advance... Arne edit: Phone is a tri-band SE K800i: so no GSM850, only 900, 1800, 1900 |

Dn't know about calls to Germa. It wuld be easy, tho to rute Germany clls thru a U.S. cal forwarder at 3 cents/min. ...mike A/o Oct 20, 2013 no need for intl prepaid as T-Mobile U.S. includes voice roaming at 20¢/min (in and out)., unlimited text (in and out), and unlimited data in 140+ countries. My Plan -[6 lines] U.S. T-Mobile unlimited minutes (incoming and outgoing), unlimited text, fast data on each line. that $145/mo. total! . (In U.S. no surcharge for calling a cell.) If a line exceeds 2G of data in a month, pay $10 more for that line. [That only happens a couple times/year. |

![]() I'm definitely not a local!
No place in the airport to buy them. The whole airport complex seemed to be under construction. Since we arrived late, had to wait until the next morning. ...mike A/o Oct 20, 2013 no need for intl prepaid as T-Mobile U.S. includes voice roaming at 20¢/min (in and out)., unlimited text (in and out), and unlimited data in 140+ countries. ![]() Just an update to confirm that UM +423 cards STILL will not register on any Guatemala network, despite UM claiming to have a +423 roaming agreement there for almost a year now!
As others suggested, I bought a local card (Claro) for about $5 US that included 40 minutes with free incoming. Combined with CallbackWorld and it worked like a champ! Kupe |
