If you are in Italy dial 4242 then press 5.
If you are outside Italy dial *124*4242# and then press 5. If it's all in Italian first wait for the Enlish message asking if you want to change language and change it to English.

A faster (and easier) free way is to send a sms to 4155 writing SALDO... you'll have 1 or more incoming SMS about your balances (voice, data, sms promotion etc. etc.)
