Have not tried due to the expense.

You can try an outbound call, just don't answer. You will only use up airtime if the number you call answers. (Not tested with O9 but this is true of a lot of providers. I just tested it with my PagePlus CDMA prepaid phone roaming on Canadian coverage.)

Hi Guys,
did anyone of you recently use the 09 card in Mexico?
Just got a call from my boss that I need to fly over there on Thursday.

Our company phone provider charges 2.55 Euro out and 1.55 Euro inbound there..... geez.

I was there in November and my 09 card worked fine with "free" incoming calls. Since then I've heard that their may have been some change in how it works.

I would advice you to take your globalsim also just in case.....
