On another travel forum, I just read somebody who said a friend of hers had ordered a UM sim and it came with a registration form...also on the web site there is a notation that registration will be available soon and there is a registration form on the site which can be faxed to them along with a copy of your passport and/or identity card.

Nothing on the web site indicates if this is mandatory and if it is mandatory whether it is for all UM cardholders or just new cardholders.

Anybody know anything about this?

it works.

title of the document is "In August 2004, Switzerland adopted a provision requiring mobile telephone operators to register the purchasers of pre-paid SIM cards. However, the effectiveness of this measure, which involved a lot of time and energy, is questionable."

Which make me wonder...

What kind of security measures will we start seeing at airports if some terrorists decide to blow up planes by packing their rectums with explosives...
