Yes, but remember to drop the initial zero on the area code (so Sydney 02 is just 2).

From most countries, it's easiest just to key a + rather than the 00, so you don't have to deal with the differering international access codes. (from Australia to Italy it's 0011 39 .., or +39 ...).
