![]() I have a CoopVoce sim that I bought in Italy last year and it will expire soon. According to their website, I can recharge with 5 Euro and it will be good for a year. The problem is that it appears that I need to receive an SMS message from the website to be able to create an account and recharge the phone.
I can't get my phone to connect to a network in the US so that I can receive the SMS. Does anybody know a way that I can set up the phone for US roaming so that I can receive the SMS? Or, otherwise, does anyone know another way to to recharge without having the phone working? I don't want to have to go through the hassle of getting another card when I'm back in Italy the next time; it was a very cumbersome process, having to convince the guys at the shop that my Codice Fiscale was valid, etc. |

![]() Never mind. I was able to get connected to a roaming partner in the US and I was able to receive an SMS and get my account established. For 5 Euro, I was able to extend the life of the sim for another year.
