We cannot exclude that there will be some roamings in Myanmar in the future, but at the moment they seem to be as true as Travelsim and 09 roamings in Tokelau which we could find on their websites in the past :D.

I think the truth is closer to what a Myanmar travel agency says "Q - How about GSM phone connection in Myanmar?
A- Myanmar GSM or mobile phone service support network for local users only and no network traffic for global phone users. Therefore, if you bring your phone into Myanmar, formally you will have to leave it at custom desk on arrival until your departure. "

I'm curious on the Yackie satellite B capability. Wonder if this has to do with the Orange-IL/Iridium agreement?

However, satphone roaming is not so good solution in any country even if rates themeselves are reasonable because it requires using an expensive and heavy handset and there's no indoor coverage....

Validity of the card is it said in the FAQ :

Q: When does the Yackie SIM card and airtime credit expire?
A: Your Yackie Mobile SIM card will never expire as long as the SIM card is used at least once to make or receive calls every 6 months. Airtime credit will expire after 6 months if no calls were placed or received.

validity of the card is for ever as long as it is used at least once every 6 months.

Upon activation you have completed the first 6 month and therefore you have another 6 month before card goes dead. Card minimum life is 12 months.

Now for Satellite roaming, I will correct that. This is not roaming country but a possible calling destination.

Don't you think that it would be useful to enable auto-recharging e.g. when the balance drops below $10 or to enable recharging directly from the phone (activated via USSD, SMS, DTMF). Now there's a risk of running out of credit on the end of the world where there's no access to internet (and, what follows, to the Yackie website :)).

For now, DATA is only available in Israel +972. Data roaming agreements are being discussed *now*. In Sept. 06 we expect to have DATA available at over 60 destinations.



This is a great feature. But CC merchant accounts, security, and payment methods are difficult issues.

For security reasons we do not have access to cc numbers.

I have an interesting thought on data roaming. If you surf over to blackberryforums.com, you'll note that on many carriers we used to be able to use Blackberry service at ordinary data rates if we had a Blackberry Enterprise account.

(Search keywords BYO Blackberry).

Most carriers blocked the necessary ports in order to pursh Blackberry subscriptions, but they need to leave these ports open to roamers. Thus, my Blackberry works in the UAE even though the local provider does not have Blackberry service.

Blackberry roaming is very data efficient because very little information is downloaded unless you "pull it down" manually. E.g. you only get three or four lines of text unless you ask for more.

If you could just arrange for a clear pathway to these BES's and billed GPRS at the standard roaming data rate it would make your SIM very attractive to corporate drones.

I agree with you. In fact we are pushing for DATA roaming agreements mostly to attract corporate accounts.

BTW i was an ex-blackberry user and since MS has added AKU mail push to WM5 - i only use MS Windows Mobile devices.

I prefer the Windows Media platform. Cingular's unlimited international Blackberry plan is what pushed me into the other camp. One of these days, I will pass their puke test.
