More than "several US cities". Even in south Mississippi there was at least one number in each toll center. This is looking better and better. As soon as someone actually gets his hands on one I may also jump onboard.

A lookup of several of these USA numbers on whitepages.com shows most of these numbers as landline #s, from an outfit called "Level 3 Communications". So I guess they request some available numbers from this company and have those numbers forwarded to the real cellular number (presumably in Israel)?

Or has this already been discussed?

So, if the Israel number of the SIM was able to be called, and thus avoided the Yackie forwarding charge, then you could have a point, but that seems unlikely at the moment, so gains no advantage over a UK mobile diversion to the landline number, from inclusive minutes.

Yes, I meant forwarding to the Israeli number but I agree with you it's very unlikely at the moment.

I agree. They covered a lot of US cities. Including all the 10 or so Chicagoland areacodes. There are also numbers in some small towns in downstate Illinois

I fear CBW may not work with Yackie, since Yackie FAQs state:

Q: Is my number visible to the called person?
A: No, the number is not visible.

If Caller ID info is not sent, how would CBW know to send you a callback? Has anyone determined if CBW works with Yackie?

Actually, it should work with CBW. Sending caller ID (or not) has nothing to do with it. The "real" caller ID is never sent anyway since it's a callback. What matters is that you call the DID given by CBW from any phone, and that will trigger a call to the callback number (riiing, yackie, etc.) that you specified via CBW's website.

If just using CBW pointed to the local US (or other country landline) number, the rate will be 8c, or 6c with Enlinea, and then the Yackie forward cost, so 32 or 30 cents, against 49c outgoing tariff on the SIM

Or, if the Israel number can be found out, and the CBW or Enlinea rate is cheaper than above, and if the Yackie forwarding charge is bypassed, then it could be worth doing it that way. Enlinea 21c to USA

Back with the Buytel SIM, people found out the real Liechtenstein number by sending an sms to another phone. That might work here, or it may be masked. Also, incoming calls on the Liechtenstein number were free, but that might have been because of their billing systems being in trouble by then

Bossman-

Cool- that adds to my understanding of how CBW works. At the same time, that adds to my confusion as to why my callback success rate is so poor with CBW in my recent experience from Italy as discussed in this thread:

Thanks again!

AFAIR Cizake told that the Israeli number is for SMS only and it's barred for incoming calls due to the agreement with Orange Israel. However, I think it should be verified

Irrelevent...

Callbackworld gives you a dedicated number keyed to callback on the number it is keyed to....any call to that number from any phone anywhere will trigger a callback to the number that has been programmed in...it doesn't rely on knowing where the triggering call comes from...that is why some people who have difficulty from time to time with callbacks coming too quickly from callback world use a 2nd phone to make the triggering call.
