Default received Tim sim have a question - 29-09-2014, 17:54

Hello all,

I just received a Tim sim, and i popped it into my android phone. After booting up i immediately started to receive SMS from TIM.

Quote:
Benvenuto in USA! TIM ti informa che puoi ricaricare su tim.it o farti ricaricare dall' Italia. Buona permanenza da TIM.
I guess im automatically on the TIM in Viaggio Internet plan correct?
How do i turn it off? im guessing TIMinViaggioInternet OFF SMS to 40916?

The sms mentions data protection also. I would like this to be on.
Is it PROTEZIONESTERO ON to 40916?

Thank you very much!.

All correct, you have the TIM in Viaggio Internet option on and the Protezione Off.
Write PROTEZIONESTERO OFF to 40916 to have it active again.

I am travelling to Italy in Nov.

How do I purchase a TIM Welcome pack before I arrive in Rome? I was told it takes a bit of time to buy one in Italy because of the need to register with passports.

Thanks

No official way to buy it in advance. For registering it can take 10/15 minutes. Maybe the card is not active at once, but usually TIM is quite fast.
