Bye bye SIM4Travel -
14-06-2013, 21:22
Received an email from SIM4Travel that they are picking up very soon with all customers being given a free Truphone SIM.
SIM4Travel were one of the best I found - free to receive in most of Europe with a free of 20p (or was it 29p) for each day the phone was used. Is there anyone else with a UK number that can come near to that rate? Contract - UK: O2 Phones - Nokia 700 Phones in store - Nokia 5100, 3230, N70, 5500, N96, N95, 6230, 1100 |

SIM4travel When did you receive the email. What date is on it? Hopefully your balance is not too large. Quote:

Yes they can. They should have put this higher up the FAQ. Quote:

Why did Truphone buy SIM4Travel? -
15-06-2013, 22:21
Truphone bought SIM 4 TRAVEL in 2008 in order to buy the SIM handling business of an established company rather than start from scratch.

They did say that balances can be transferred.
The number given is a Jersey one, but I've done a couple of test calls and they come out of my free UK O2 allowance. So, I'll pay 7p per min to receive a diverted call while I'm abroad against O2's ... 7p a minute! The only thing is that if O2 Travel is activated, you pay a flat rate of 50p per message received. I want one that's free to receive - 07mobile.com | 100% Free Roaming | No Expiry | No Fees ! looks good, but their website doesn't fill me with confidence... Contract - UK: O2 Phones - Nokia 700 Phones in store - Nokia 5100, 3230, N70, 5500, N96, N95, 6230, 1100 |

Are you sure? International Numbering Plans seems to disagree.

This forum is independent of providers, so nobody here can check anything for you. As per the above posts, Truphone closed down the Sim4travel brand and invited people to have replacement Truphone SIMs. It might be a bit too late, but try contacting them. |
