Default Question about Maxroam Global - 07-09-2010, 15:35

Good Morning,
I can't understand the MAXROAM Global (+44) FAQs:

Will my MAXROAM SIM expire?

Yes, your credit will expire 180 days after purchase.

Will my Credit Bundle expire?

No, your credit bundle will not expire once your SIM and account remains
active.

Will my SIM & account expire?

Yes, your SIM and account will expire 365 days after your last cash top-up.

What I've to do to keep the SIM and the credit active and alive? Which are
the top-up imports?

Regards

Same kind of confusion with Maxroam Classic +32:

Does my credit expire?
180 days after your last chargeable call or SMS message your credit will go into an inactive state. You must top up to remove your credit from this state within 180 days of it becoming inactive. As soon as you top up your credit will be reactivated and added to the amount that you topped up by. If you do not top up within 360 days from your most recent activity, your remaining balance will be lost.

Will my credit expire?
No, never.

Will my SIM and account expire?
No, never.

Default Credit gone without warning .... - 18-01-2011, 16:55

I can confirm that, without topping up, Maxroam Global (+44) credit indeed will expire 180 days after activation of the sim card. The account is still active. But without credit the sim only receives SMS, no voice. A bit strange as the website still tells me that the credit bundle will not expire once the SIM and account remain active.

Update: a 'credit bundle' is not the same as the cash balance you receive when buying a Maxroam Global SIM card. This initial airtime will expire anyway after 180 days.

Same here. I had a maxroam global sim until a few weeks ago. I wanted to test it out for an upcoming trip, but could not receive or make calls. I logged into the account and it showed zero balance. My $25 euro initial credit was gone! I called them up and they said it has expired and there is nothing that could be done. I had really planned on using up my credit when I travel to West Africa in March anyway. Because the rates on that global card are not the best for the countries I visit.
