Default Question/Help with WIND SIM-card - 29-09-2007, 16:37

Hi,
in 2 weeks my family will travel to italy for holiday.
So today i undusted my old WIND SIM which i formerly used for MEGA surfing.

Now i see on the 155.it it says " Data Ultima Ricarica 04/10/2006"
That means: on Oct 4 it will expire - but my family will be in italy one week later.

Is the card totally dead then or can we reactivate it (with the remaining 30 Euro on it) when they arrive in italy? If not i would need to recharge it here (i guess the o2-recharge cards will still work, right?)

Thanks for any hints,
Chris

Go for an O2 refill as fast as you can or your card will be totally dead on the 3rd of october and no way to get it back to work.

In Italy you can recharge the card within one month from credit expiry.
But outside Italy, the card will be dead as soon as credit expires.

Now with Wind the "grace period" doesn't exist anymore, now you can do everything till the 11th month, but if you don't refill it before the 12th the sim is dead, it doesn't matter where you are.

thanks. I recharged it yesterday with a o2 scratch card. They give the full amount of money as balance now without a recharge fee.

My Wind SIM was coming up for recharge

Dialling *124*4242# I had the menu in English, but only Wind recharges or "easyricarica" options were there. The O2 voucher code wasn't recognised on the Wind option.

Dialling 4242 (while on O2) gave me a menu in Italian, and the second option seemed to be for international, but the DTMF wasn't working earlier, and later on nothing happened at all after I pressed 2

So I logged in to the account and tried with a UK Visa debit card, and it worked, and 2 email confirmations came

I'm sure I read that this didn't used to be possible; certainly didn't work for me a year ago

My recollection is that when I last did this you get emails saying it's worked - but it doesn't.

Are you sure this is what you dialed to get the menu in English? I tried this, but it didn't work. I would really like to know how to get it in English.
