Default Recharge help for TIM SIM card. - 26-03-2008, 11:31

Hi,
I am new to this forum, so please bear with me. I was in Italy in May of 2007, going back this year, but not till October.
I have a TIM SIM with my Italian phone number, and I do not want to lose my number. I live in Canada, and would like to add minutes so it will not expire.
Does anyone know how to do this. I sent a member a private message but have not heard back. I keep trying to register on the TIM website, but it will not let me.
I am thinking that the best way is for my relatives in Vicenza to go to a tobacco shop and just add some Euros to my number, if that is even possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mara

Your idea is good, your relatives can refill your sim with only 5 euro or i can help you (mp me).
You can also accept 'promo mms' (it's free): it give you other 12 months to use your sim card (you can call 4916?)

Would my relatives just go to a tobacco store with my Cell number, is that all they would need? Because they sure don't have my cell phone.
I did send you a private message yesterday.
Thanks for responding to the thread!!

Yes, if the tobacco store has got the electronic machine that is used also to bet on soccer events (Lottomatica) all they need is your number.

AFAIK is there is a huge number of tobacco stores that uses this systems instead of selling scratch cards, so i think it wouldn't be too hard to find one.

Its' very easy to recharge your sim card in Italy: your relatives only need the number They can send you the secret code to recharge it

Thanks to eveyone for the replies, I have recharged my telefonino, but now I have another little problem, I am not roaming. Is that done throught TIM, or does anyone know the solution? My relatives tried to call me from Italy but the calls are not going through, my balance is 11.96 according to my account at TIM. (pre-paid V180 Motorola)
Grazie
