Default PAYG mobile broadband in Spain - 28-02-2011, 19:06

Hi,

I'll be travelling round the coast of Mallorca and the entire coast between Barcelona and the French border from 10 May through 24 June.

Any recommendations for a Pay As You Go mobile broadband supplier would be greatly appreciated. I expect to use about 2 Gb over the whole period, but usage wont be spread evenly on a daily basis. I have unlocked mobile broadband dongle.

How much will it cost, and where to buy a SIM?

Will also need to use Skype quite a bit.

Thanks very much for your help,

Spain - Yoigo - Prepaid Wireless Internet Access

Looks like this is about the best deal, if they will sell a non-resident a SIM (see page for details).

Last september i succesfully bought and used a Prepago Datos SIM from Carrefour Movil along the Costa Brava. This supermarket chain does offer a daily rate, 'Bono 1 Gb' and 'Bono 3 Gb'. This last one costs 29 euro and is valid 30 days. After 3 Gb, the speed is 128 Kbps.

Check in a vodafone shop, they have good deals, like you pay 29 euro and then you choose the Bono according to your needs. You have bonos per week, per fortnight and per month. Also you can choose it per MB. Good luck and have fun!

Hi,

Thanks all for your replies.

I've been trying to do a bit more research: from what I've read Vodafone blocks Skype (which rules it out for me), and Yoigo may also (some say they do, others say it's fine).

To use Skype it's best to go with Orange or one of the operators which use the Orange network.

Is that all correct?

Thanks,
