Default Replacement SIM did arrive last week - 31-03-2008, 12:03

I went to the post office last Thursday and oh wonder, a GT-SIM replacement SIM were in my Postbox. It is wrapped in a identical wrapper than the original SIM came. A Silver sticker is above the Simcard giving you the following details:

Your Old Sim Number: +44 xxxxxxxxxx
Your new Sim Number: +44 xxxxxxxxxx
PIN:
PUK1:

The Number is within the +44-7924-3xxxxx number range. Search on the web says clearly it is a MANX Number.

At present I had no time to try the SIM-card, wondering if it is just a plain SIM or if it comes with some call value (since I had no money left on the SIM).

Greetings from Austria

BK

Hi Easyroam,

i checked the CLI thing on O2 in Germany calling from my O2 Contract to GT-SIM
maybe i need to check this once more with the GT-SIM roaming on T-D1, Vodafone D2, and E+.

THomas

BTW: does anybody knows if you can use GPRS with the GT-SIM cards as well.
with the old card this was no issue at all. What is the APN now for the new Card ?

Default GPRS is gone - 02-04-2008, 17:12

Hi thblob,

I guess that data roaming for prepaid Simcards is gone. If you look at their website you will see that they only offer GPRS for the postpaid deal and for all of those that buy their mobile phone.

the SIM can be reached and i get in/outboud CLI on all of my
Calls on all 4 Networks.

Thomas,

You mentioned that inbound calls are free within the EU. Unless i am mistaken GT-SIM charge 19 Euro cents for inbound within the EU at per minute billing.

Please correct me if i am wrong but that does not seem very competitive to me.

regards

Alf

i am not working or getting paid from GTSIM but please have
a look at the website http://www.gt-sim.de/ then click on pricelist
and then on complete pricelist.

Here it says all inbound calls within the EU are free of charge ..
given the fact that you subscribed to the B2C plan (standard plan) it varies when you are on the B2B or GTPhone plan. (these are cheaper for outbound calls but not for inbound).

i tried with my card roaming on D1,D2,E+,O2 in Germany and only outbound calls had been charged to my GTSIM account at 0,26 € per minute (i called my fixed line at home)

So the info on the webpage is a bit misleading if you are not looking at the detailed pricelist ... i guess GTSIM wants to promote the B2B and GTPhone plan. (here the outbound calls are cheaper but you pay for inbound calls)

i have now GTSIM, UM, UM+, Globalsim

Cheers Thomas

Due to the informations provided by the web page and on my own experiences the new billing units are the following 19/29 Euro cents for fixed/mobile and 19 Euro cents for incoming calls within the EU. There is no more B2C plan available.

Maybe its because i have recieved a Replacement SIM
not a new one ?

My new Number is +447924352784 before i had +44-7624103000

please have a look at my CDR´s :
05-04-2008 14:19 49176xx |<– IN GERMANY 1.00 0.00 0.00
04-04-2008 20:57 |–> OUT GERMANY 49176xx 1.00 0.38 0.38
26-03-2008 20:13 |–> OUT GERMANY 496102xxx 1.00 0.26 0.26

so i was chared 0 for inbound beeing called from O2 +49176xxx
0,38 EUR to reach a mobile number +49176-xxx
0.26 EUR to reach a fixed line number +496102xxx

should i complain ? if i would only use the card for outbound calls
then 0,19 EUR for fixed lines and 0,29 for mobile lines would be
a great deal much better then what you get from UML, UML+, Globalsim

another strange thing if you click to order a new card you can
choose a fixed line number to be forwarded to your SIM card ?
"After you purchased your GT-SIM you are able to add additional phone numbers form a selection of 50 countries around the world Country List "

Strange Strange
