![]() Yes, Vodafone offered 2€/day for 100MB in a limited period. They won't deactivate that old offer on sims that have that offer... but this demonstrates how illegal is EuropaSim: it means they've made bulk activations from ~May 2011 to Sept. 2011, resulting activated to a certain person, and reselled throughout Europe. This violates italian regulation: you can't resell a sim which has been already activated to a person.

![]() Which product exactly is behind EuropaSIM? Is it just a roaming tariff activated for a random Italian prepaid SIM or is it some special product?
Also I cannot find these data roaming options (100MB for € 2/day and 150M for €6/day) on Vodafone's website. All I can find is... ..50MB for € 2.50/day: http://www.areaprivati.vodafone.it/1...obile_internet ..and 150MB for € 6/day + the domestic data tariff: http://www.areaprivati.vodafone.it/1...ablet_passport Can these tariffs advertised as "EuropaSIM" still be activated somehow? postpaid: O2 on Business XL; prepaid: DE: Aldi Talk, Lidl; UK: 3; BG: MTel, vivacom; RU: MTS; RS: MTS; UAE: du Tourist SIM; INT'L: toggle mobile VoIP: sipgate.de (German DID); sipgate.co.uk (British DID); ukddi.com (British DID); sipcall.ch (Swiss DID); megafon.bg (Bulgarian DID); InterVoip.com |

The card I got from EuropaSIM was activated the day I ordered it, so the folks behind the site may have a way to get it activated through the back door. ![]() I just noticed EuropaSIM's daily 100MB plan is not EUR2.50, up from EUR2.
Does the rate change affect all users or just new ones, with legacy users being grandfathered? ![]() 2.50€ should be the correct rate for users who activated Vodafone Mobile Internet Passport after mid-2011. But probably there's a bug in Vodafone billing system, as I recently activated that offer, and in the counters I see I've an allowance of 100MB (instead of 50MB), but I haven't tested it yet.
To sum up, the official situation should be: - old users (until mid-2011): 50MB for 2€/day (if you have Mobile Internet activated) or 2€ + national tariff (now it should be 4€ per day in Italy, without any offer - so 6€ in total abroad) - new users: 50MB for 2,5€/day The current situation, as far as I know, is: 100MB for 2€/day. |

![]() I just got back from a German day visit and checked my balance - it seems I used 55MB of data and my balance reduced by around 7 euros - checked with a colleague, he expereinced something similar in the UK last month.
It looks like Voda IT have quietly halved the 100MB for 2 euros option. This isn't a problem for me, as I use the 150MB/6 euros daily option most of the time whilst tapping on my laptop in hotel rooms. +Steve ![]() PO Box 1014, Sheffield S10 5YG, UK Home mobie: Telefonica O2 Other UK mobiles: 3, Vodafone, Virgin Foreign SIMs: Toggle (multi); Germany (Fonic); Poland (Orange PL); Skype: stevewgold |
