Actually I'm just wondering if UM+ was rushed to the market too soon without the proper testing and we are in effect the beta testers for them.

I guess they saw the handwriting on the wall for the +423 service as I noted earlier because of the escalating termination fees.....

But I wonder ultimately what will happen with these semi UK number (Isle of Man and Jersey)....will there be surcharges on ld carriers for calls to +44 7624 and to +44 7937?
When looking round for my mobile phone contract recently as my upgarde was due, there were less deals available than last year including inclusive calls to +447624(IOM), +447924(IOM), +447937(Jersey) and new WiFi services +447911(Varies location)

Probably they wanted UM+ to be ready as soon as possible for these summer holidays, and this caused these little troubles.

Before buying UM+, I've been looking up among international phone cards (not sim, but those cards you can use from a landline like Eutelia, Vectone, Albacom, ecc.) and they all consider 7937 as any other UK mobile number, and calls to +447937 are quite cheaper than those to +423663. I hope things don't get changed!

If IOM based SIMs ever get Caller ID enable then there would be a really good competative feature packed international based SIM card.

Call Waiting, Conference Calls, Call Divert, Call recording, Voicemail retrieval online, no call setup fee, an even greater choice of price plans and a cheap +44 mobile number that can be called by most carriers

Would definately give UM, 09 and TravelSIM some better competation

I see Jersey Telecom have registered another telephone number range +447509xxxxxx which will cause more problems trying to call from other carriers as UK mobile numbers up until this number range have always been +4476xxxxxxxx, +4477xxxxxxxx, +4478xxxxxxxx and +4479xxxxxxxx

Numbers in 075 have been allocated for a few months now, but seem to be only just appearing in use. Part of the reason why IoM SIMs aren't reachable from some providers is that they haven't enabled +4476 in their dialplans

Another incompatibility on UM+: the Z300 doesn't display credit, just empty sms. Even, if I ask for the credit from the sim menu, the phone crashes and remains on "wait please", the only way to recover is to disconnect the battery. On the V3 the credit is displayed, but no expiry date.

My V3 (MOTO RAZR) displays expiry date. It says "No expiry date".

Were you referring to a Moto RAZR when you said V3?

I've been in France a day. My SIM card got here before me as I was a couple of days later than planned.

I've just activated the SIM online, not added any credit yet, and the phone rang when the number was dialled from my O2 phone
