I take it that the phone worked in USA with the German SIM.

Does the phone REGISTER on the network in IRELAND? I am thinking that one of the frequencies might not work. A long shot. USA has 1900; Europe has 900 or 1800. If the phone registers on the Irish network, then the problem is NOT the phone transmitter itself.

Another possibility is the dialing function. Not familiar with CALL BLUE. With my old TREO I had to use the SIM menu to dial out. I could not use the dial pad to dial out.

Also, another phone I had worked fine in the US. Arrived in Germany -- would not register. Two weeks later, in Germany, the phone registered on the D1 network. Why it took two weeks, I cannot tell you.

My two cents.

Stan
