There are 2 different bands for W-CDMA: 1900MHz, used in the US and 2100MHz, used everywhere else. Almost all W-CDMA phones are available on the 2100MHz only. AFAIK dual-band W-CDMA phones don't exist, by now.
All W-CDMA phones (except some sold in Japan) are dual-mode, which means they are GSM as well, usually triband (900/1800/1900). If you want to use it in Italy I suggest to buy it with 3, there are some very cheap bundles, with sim-locked phones (you can use only the sim included with the bundle). After 18 months you can unlock them for free, while after 9 months you have to pay something for the unlock. Deceased Prepaids: CZ: Oskar, Eurotel; SK: Orange; DE: E-Plus, Aldi, Simyo; GE: Geocell; AM: Armentel; PL: Heyah, Plus; LT: Tele2; LV: Amigo; EE: Elisa; UA: Kyivstar; NZ: Vodafone; INT: UM, UM+, ICQSim. GSM/3G Phones: Nokia Lumia 630 dual sim |
