I'm back in the U.S. until tomorrow evening. Over the last 60 days, I've used my UM SIM (purchased from Vlad's Surplus Mobile Supplies by the Way) in the the Netherlands, the UAE, Oman, HK (only briefly -- no free incoming there -- got a local sim), and Mainland China. I'm using it the UK tomorrow, the Netherlands, and Lebanon over the next three weeks. I'll report back. My wife has also used UM in Turkey. We have had no problems.

I've been mostly using Callbackworld. They have good rates and no what they are getting into. I've played with cheap pathways using VOIP, but I feel that this is a cat and mouse game. Once the carrier founds out the true wholesale to UM, they raise the rates. I had six cents a minute. I have an 8 cents a minute route through another VOIP provider, but I doubt it will hold.
