![]() I've used Groundwire with Pirahna and it works well with their clients.
Folks at Pirahna, a have two questions for you: (a) any plans for SMS forwarding?; or, (b) a client to allow you to text on an Android or iOS device over 3g? Also, I see that you can set a different caller-id with your phone. How does one do that? |

![]() recently upgraded to Samsung Galaxy S2 from S (Vibrant), and the VOIP would not work (on Android ICS 4.04). Had to install Acrobits SIP on their recommendation, now it's fine.

![]() For the record, Acrobits and Groundwire are similar offerings from the same company. For $3 more, Acrobits offers a few extra features. I decided to be the "big spender."

![]() was just in Iceland a few days, and had problems with the Piranha sim. Only got data for a few hours in total, unclear why, I had all the settings right (and there was data on wife's phone using UK Orange sim). And the call back system for making calls was spotty, did not always ring back. Customer service said something about their servers there...

![]() Just discovered the call forwarding service on Piranha works for international numbers - this is a unique solution, as far as I know, without monthly charges.
I've tried various things, google voice + Keku, tel3+ speed dial numbers, but all sorts of constraints prevent these from working. I just wanted people who dial my US cell to get forwarded to a UK or other local sim. I just set my US cell to forward to the US Piranha number, and use the Piranha forwarding service to an international number, et voila. It was 6p/min for an Israeli mobile sim |

![]() Going to be in Canada later this week, and saw a Piranha warning re frequencies.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 (home is TMobile US network), phone specs are: Networks Quad-band GSM world phone(850/900/1800/1900 MHz) Data GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/UMTS I've used the phone before without problem in Canada for phone and data using native TMob sim card and also using Truphone. But if Piranha only works with Bell in Canada, AWS 3G 1700Mhz/2100Mhz, is that a problem? thanks for any help... (also posted this on the Piranha FAQ board, but no response today!) |
