![]() Thanks for all the very helpful info in this forum first of all. I didn't recharge my Vodafone sim in time to keep it active for 7/9 arrival in Italy so I'm looking for a new card. It looks as if Wind will be my best option for use in a zoom router (similar to mifi) and I can then use my iphone/ipad to connect. Just checking if this is the best current option if anyone can help please?
I am hoping to get a card in Desenzano as I was only able to buy a Voda sim in Peschiera last year - they wouldn't sell me anything else in the shop! I used Wind and TIM cards two years ago in this area and reception was great on both. Thanks very much for taking the time to read/answer. Tracey |

![]() Sorry for my late reply, I suppose you are not already in Italy.
Surely Wind and TIM are the best choices for both voice and data in Italy. Vodafone is usually more expensive and lately also not so reliable... ![]() Hi Effendi and thanks for replying. I bought a Wind sim on the 20 Euro plan so that I could use skype. I have been using the sim in my iphone and tethering my ipad - it has worked perfectly.
The sim card worked fully approximately 5 hours after leaving the shop. I also paid 10 euros for the sim card (not sure if that was right or not) but there is still 5 euros credit on the card. I've come back on here to find out if I should buy a recharge as I will be back in Italy in May. Will see if I can find the answer... Thanks again Tracey Editing to check this is correct: when I am leaving Italy I send an SMS to 4033 saying UNLIMITED NO. I buy a recharge voucher from a supermarket (?) for 25 euros which I can then use to reactivate this option in May by sending an SMS to 4033 saying UNLIMITED SI. If I top up at a tabacchi with my mobile number will the credit still be available in May? My French sim card credit expires after a short time hence my question. Thank you! |

![]() Wind cards have a validity of 12 months from the last refill, so if you recharge now you will have time to use it till august 2013.

![]() Thanks Effendi, I bought a 25 euro recharge from a supermarket in the end so will activate it in May and hope I can get it on the Internet unlimited plan again.
