Is Wind expanding there 3g coverage? Any timetable?

We still don't have 3g in our village and I'am wondering if I should bite the bullet and get a landline installed mainly for ADSL (we don't have cable). |

Wind expanding? umm Wind is for sale. According to the last investor info packet Orascom is in talks with Vodafone for the sale.. well its not a sale more of a purchase of the debt. The sticking point from what I have read is Wind.IT comes with Wind.GR as a package.

It's in talks with Vimpelcom, not Vodafone.

BTW Wind is the operator which is more expanding its 3G network in Italy, also because it currently has the smallest one... Anyway not many villages are covered in 3G, almost none by Wind... Deceased Prepaids: CZ: Oskar, Eurotel; SK: Orange; DE: E-Plus, Aldi, Simyo; GE: Geocell; AM: Armentel; PL: Heyah, Plus; LT: Tele2; LV: Amigo; EE: Elisa; UA: Kyivstar; NZ: Vodafone; INT: UM, UM+, ICQSim. GSM/3G Phones: Nokia Lumia 630 dual sim |

So the chance of getting 3g in our village is slim. I have been sitting out in the piazza with my cell phone tethered to my laptop and taking a half hour to download a few emails up until now. They want 40 euro a month for a landline but I just heard we are suppose to be getting cable this year so that may be the solution!

Where is your village? If there's no other 3G network, Wind will probably be the last one which will ever appear. Landline should be much cheaper than 40€/month, btw...

I was looking at the Wind prices for a landline.. If we do get cable we can sign up for internet but as we aren't there all the time it would be cheaper to tether a cell phone if 3g ever comes (TIM isn't 3g either) |
