I went in tonite and was able to upgrade my two GC accounts to G-Voice. One change, you have the option to not have to press "1" to answer a call.
Question here: Can you access the G-Voice website via your "smartphone"? If so, would it pay to use GV to dial calls while roaming. Calls made this way would pass over the data stream, I presume. How much data does a voice call use in a minute? They don't have int'l call fowarding - yet. Since it's on their "check here if you want it list - they are def. thinking about it. I have been a light user of Grand Central. It has worked fine. ...mike A/o Oct 20, 2013 no need for intl prepaid as T-Mobile U.S. includes voice roaming at 20¢/min (in and out)., unlimited text (in and out), and unlimited data in 140+ countries. My Plan -[6 lines] U.S. T-Mobile unlimited minutes (incoming and outgoing), unlimited text, fast data on each line. that $145/mo. total! . (In U.S. no surcharge for calling a cell.) If a line exceeds 2G of data in a month, pay $10 more for that line. [That only happens a couple times/year. |

I don't think that's the way it works. You can definitely access the site via your smartphone, but if you press the "Call" link, it will first call you (on your cell if you wish) and then call the other party, then connect. So it would I think be counted as inbound airtime.

Apparently they opened up the Google Voice API to outside developers. There's already a PC dialer available for Google Voice: [Proggy] Google Voice dialer - dslreports.com
