Interesting. That wasn't an issue for me with UM "classic" but it certainly makes sense. However, that's not a good "feature" for someone like the OP who wants to deploy across a company with many users, not all of whom are cellphone "literate."

Just out of curiosity, did you try to manually set the roaming partner?

No, but since I'm leaving for Austria tomorrow I'll soon have a chance to try it Thanks for the hint.
