![]() The title about sums it up. I've been using a Globalsim for a while, and am reasonably happy with the quality and consistency of the calls.
However, a few weeks ago I tried to top up, and got an error message from the server (not of the type that there is a problem with the credit card, but a server software error.) I have tried other computers, other browsers, other credit cards and get the same result. I emailed Globalsim customer service a few weeks ago (and again last week), and have also left a few messages on the company voicemail (which is apparently a Vodafone cell voicemail.) Zero response. Any suggestions, or do I just use the SIM card until it's out of credit and throw it away (which would be a shame because the rates and coverage work very well for me.) |

![]() I remember they were having some problems in February when I tried to topup. But, that was supposed to be fixed in April when they move to a different merchant. Looks like it's still a problem. Did you try it from their website and this other hosting site?
http://longdistancesim.host4tele.com/hosting/globalsim/ Here is my posting and a response from Travis at freeGlobalsim regarding topup problems. http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/show...=freeglobalsim Sim cards: AT&T (Contract), 3 UK, Piranha Mobile |

![]() Yes, I did try topping up on the Globalsim site.
I just looked at the other site you referenced, which appears to be for a different card with different pricing and now way, as far as I can tell, to log in with my Globalsim number and top up. Is there some secret way I'm missing? Quote:

![]() That's a hosting site for several of these IOM sims including freeGlobalsim. In fact, that's the one I always go to because it offers much more features online...pretty much all the features that are available via the phone. VM, call forwarding, topup, etc.
Click on login then use your number 447624NNNNNN. The password is the PW that they gave you on day one to use to login to their site. I believe this is also the sim PIN. I changed mine on both sites to be the same...to make life easier. Once you login, click on profile and go from there... Here are the options I see whe I click on profile. My Numbers Call Screening Mobile Setup E-Mail Setup Change Password Users Payment Type Card Details Top-up Credit Incoming Calls Billing Sim cards: AT&T (Contract), 3 UK, Piranha Mobile |

![]() I logged in with my original password (not the modified one) and it allowed me to log in and see my account.
It took my credit card number and went through the process, but my balance has not been updated on either site and I can see from my online credit card access that my credit card number has not been billed. You are certainly correct about this website having alot more meat on it. Even the call detail is more complete than on the Globalsim website, and there are many other options. The rates are more up to date as well. A call made yesterday from Poland to a UK mobile was billed at 47 cents for a minute, while a one minute call made today to the same number was billed at 76 cents. While the Globalsim site rate calculator still quotes a rate of 47 cents from Poland to a UK mobile, the generic site you pointed me to quotes the apparently new higher rate. There might be some across the board rate hikes happening - e.g., on Globalsim Germany to US is quoted at 43 cents, the other site quotes it at 51 cents. Quote:

![]() The same exact thing happened to me.Then I received an email from them shorly afterwards. As per the thread I referenced above.
I think it's still down. But, I am sure they (Travis or someone else there) should be able to add some credit to your sim. It was not critical for me since my reason for wanting to topup was to extend the life of the sim. Which is really not neccesary since any chargable activity will do it. Quote:

![]() After a few emails back and forth and the passage of time, I received an email today telling me the system had been modified and to try again. I did, and it now works fine.

![]() I am able to login.
Are you using your 447nnnn to login and the PIN they sent with the email as the password (see link below)? If so, something else may be wrong. Unfortunately, a number of people have not had much luck contacting them. http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/show...=freeglobalsim Also, see if you can login here... http://longdistancesim.host4tele.com/hosting/globalsim/ Sim cards: AT&T (Contract), 3 UK, Piranha Mobile |

2. I can successfully log in in to http://longdistancesim.host4tele.com/hosting/globalsim/ Is it possible to popup using this site? |
