One more suggestion. If you do buy a phone off Ebay, test it w. both a Cingular and T-Mobile card here (if you can) to make sure it is unlocked and will accept dif. SIMS. I have bought many phones off Ebay w.o. a problem, but it can't hurt to check.
I use Voicestick's "Next2Nothing" plan from time to time. You go online, sign up, pick a local number, put some credit on your acct. w. a cr. card. When she gets a local Ecuador number, go back on line to your acct. and direct all calls to that number. 11.44 cents/min. to call an Ecuador cell!! ...mike A/o Oct 20, 2013 no need for intl prepaid as T-Mobile U.S. includes voice roaming at 20¢/min (in and out)., unlimited text (in and out), and unlimited data in 140+ countries. My Plan -[6 lines] U.S. T-Mobile unlimited minutes (incoming and outgoing), unlimited text, fast data on each line. that $145/mo. total! . (In U.S. no surcharge for calling a cell.) If a line exceeds 2G of data in a month, pay $10 more for that line. [That only happens a couple times/year. |

Ok I think I have it. Going to buy a phone on ebay, and a sim in the us for testing and have her buy the rest when she gets there. I believe by her buying the sim from there it should more then likely work.
I read where if you buy from somewhere else it (meaning online) that it might not work. Thanks for all. Steve |
