ok, i did get a vodaphone, and i should have it within a week.
now i just need to find a international sim that i can add credit to the account online. because i wont really have an address to send the cards to once im there. so i will get a sim before i go, and add credit from my computer if i need more time. any suggestions? |

The information you've received here is good. I can't follow the link you provided but I might suggest getting a Motorola RAZR V3X (the "X" is important) from either eBay or Tiger Direct. I currently use a Motorola V980 in Japan and wish it had BlueTooth. Any questions, just ask. Some of us have been dealing with the Japan problem for years.
You don't have to go 3G. You can also rent a prepaid 2.5G phone at the airport. Or if you have contacts in Japan, they might be able to help you buy a prepaid phone. Most folks on a temporary visa have a hard time buying a prepaid in Japan. |
