Default Warning Counterfeit N95s - 07-12-2007, 14:55

Just a heads up, there are a ton of counterfeit Nokia n95s out there and floating on e-bay. The second generation fakes look like the real ones including the dual slider mechanism, the right screen, Symbian, etc. The fake, however, is a triband phone with no wifi, GPS, 3g, TV outs, or 850gsm. I've attached my more detailed post from Howards Forum on the subject.
======================

I just saw on replicaphones.co.uk that the NokLa has been upgraded with a dual slide mechanism. After googling a bit, I found this add for the same fake on ebayMalaysia:

And here is another link:

Note the plum coloring, the dual slide mechanism, and the multimedia key in place of the play key. Also, this fake supposedly uses real Nokia batteries, chargers, and cables.

If the photo on the Malaysian site is of the fake, I suspect this generation will be harder to spot than the Gen 1 Nokla's.

According to the second e-bay link, this is a triband GSM phone (but it strangely lists one of the frequencies as 7200mhz) with no GPS, no 3g, no wifi, and no tv outputs. The touch screen and stylus are apparently also gone according to this ebay listing:
