Prepaid card on Airport

Hello,

In few days I will travel to US and I would like to buy a prepaid-sm to use it on one of my phone. And I have few question :

I will travel to Detroit and my fly make a stop at New York. So can I buy a prepaid car in New-York and use it at Detroit without any issues ?
Can I find some of prepaid card on airport shop ?
