We have UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA in the major centres (pretty much any city over 150K population).

As for plans, it's tough to give specific advice, but the GSM providers are:

http://www.rogers.com
http://www.fido.ca (runs on Rogers network)

The CDMA providers in Ontario are:

Select your province | TELUS Mobility
http://www.bell.ca
Virgin Mobile Canada (runs on Bell's network)

They are adopting GSM but it will not be running until next year.

Wind Mobile is coming online this year but may not have coverage in Belleville until next year. They will be using UMTS 1700.

CA: SaskTel, Wind postpaid; Rogers, Bell postpaid iPad flex plans; US: T-Mobile postpaid data, prepaid voice; PureTalk (AT&T MVNO) prepaid voice/data; AT&T prepaid iPad plan

Hardware: Too much but notably iPhone 5, iPad Mini Retina LTE, Moto G LTE (N.A. version), iPhone 4. All unlocked.
