Country: | 29-11-2005, 18:26 Dear North-American friends! I'd like to test SMS interchange between the Polish network Plus GSM and non-GSM networks (listed below). Plus GSM claims that SMS can be sent from any postpaid or prepaid SIM in its network to any of the networks below,. However, it doesn't guarantee that SMS will go through in the opposite way. Please PM me your phone numbers, and I'll send you test messages. List of networks Canada Bell Wireless Alliance CDMA1900 Canada Bell Wireless Alliance AMPS Canada Telus AMPS Canada Telus CDMA1900 USA Alltel AMPS USA Alltel CDMA USA Centennial AMPS USA Cincinnati Bell TDMA1900 USA Dobson CDMA USA Leap Direct CDMA USA Triton TDMA USA US Cellular AMPS USA US Cellular TDMA USA US Cellular CDMA USA US West CDMA1900 USA Verizon Wireless AMPS USA Verizon Wireless CDMA USA Verizon Wireless CDMA1900 USA Western Wireless AMPS/TDMA |

: http://www.plusgsm.pl/uslugi/sms_niestanda..._sieci_non_gsm/ BTW, "analog" doesn't necessarily mean "no SMS". AFAIK, NMT in the last years of its existence supported SMS sending and receiving. | |

Country: | 30-11-2005, 22:42 AMPS and TDMA are hopefully dying Cingular and T-Mobile done use AMPS Cingular is not really activating that many new TDMA handsets and is slicing spectrum Nextel does not have AMPS on their handsets AFAIK so CDMA is really what you want Current Prepaid: None Older Prepaid: AT&T wireless; TracFone; Telestet; Vodafone GR; Fido; SFR; T-mobile US; Tuyo, Cosmote Postpaid: at&t |
