Country: | 12-01-2014, 03:09 Vodacom has a SIM-only data-only prepaid package with 10 GB for about €38. The other carriers probably have something similar. In general, you're better off waiting and buying a SIM when you get there. Vodacom lists a shop in the domestic terminal at JNB. (vodashop.domtex@vodacom.co.za) MTN has a store in international arrivals (gauteng4servicequeries@mtn.co.za) but I find their prepaid plans more difficult to understand. |

Country: | 13-03-2014, 07:59 hej has been on the Vodacom network in South Africa for 16 days! Purchased sim and 5GB data 440rand. There is a shop right after you come out of customs. (right across from a coffee shop) You have to show your passport when purchasing. It only takes about 5 -10 minutes to get the sim. As soon as the mobile was restarted, it was on the net! It works using the phone for hotspot. Speed on the web was ok. In Kruger National Park Was there only Ede networks. You can also get talk time for call to Europe for fair prices. But I have not tried! And South Africa! ..... Cool place Chr |

Country: | 07-04-2014, 21:36 I'm looking for a sim that would cover me in Cape Town, JNB, Kruger and parts of Botswana. Anyone know of a SIM that would cover both countries? I'm looking just for some data really. Who has the best Botswana coverage? The current providers list doesn't seem to have been updated for a while. |

 beMobile's biggest prepaid data bucket is 350 MB for P250 (about US$28 ). | |

Country: | 08-04-2014, 19:17 Thanks for the response DRNewcomb! I'll just start the process of checking it all out. Sounds like one is going to need both a ZA and a BW SIM, probably not able to get a SIM that would allow some coverage in both? |
