World-Wide data... any options?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a prepaid SIM card that'll get me online more or less anywhere I go, without having to buy a new local prepaid SIM card every time (they usually expire by the time I visit again). Mostly Western Europe (BeNeLux) and SE Asia (Thailand)...

I need:

-Some kind of data flatrate (throttling to 64kbit/s is OK) - day, week, month packages preferred
-At least UMTS speeds (if coverage is available, of course), preferably higher
-Easy way to top up, preferably online (Paypal, credit card)
-Long validity (a year or longer)

Calls, on the other hand, don't matter at all. Won't be receiving or making any at all on this card...

Any suggestions?

a reliable (personaly tested) and cheap option for roaming within Europe would be Searoam , €0.22/min. for outgoing calls. SeaRoam - Low Cost Roaming Also their calls are rated at a minimum duration of 60 seconds and then in units of 30 seconds thereafter. Good customer service and attractive data rates for €0.50/mb within Europe.


But because you plan using mainly data , ekit Global Premium Service sim (also tested as reliable) has excellent European data rates (except France) for only $0,39/mb that's aprrox. €0.30/mb (best rate on market).
the price of this sim is also attractive , only $10 per sim with 10months airitime validity and 15months sim validity. Excellent customer service.

I was hoping to find a package that offers domestic-style data packages - say 100MB over 7 days for 10€. Is anything like this available in the international arena at all?

At 0.30€/MB I can almost use my regular German SIM card

best data package for usage within EU this moment is for 4.99eur for a week including 60mb, from German-alditalk. 60 MB / 7 Days / 4.99eur. package .
if you exceed the 60mb you will be charged for 0.49/mb. after a week (since last activation) you can activate again the same package.
you can buy the alditalk simcard either at aldi-stores in Germany or at ebay.de


also vodafone ireland offers 50mb per day for 3eur. for usage to most european countries. these simcards can be found at ebay.co.uk .
you can also recharge vodafone-ireland sims with foreign network's vodafone topup cards while abroad.


also have a look at europasim Europa SIM-Card - Mobile internet in Europe, everywhere, anytime, for just ? 6 per day with 150 MB included (corresponds to ? 0.04/MB) they offer for 6eur. per day 150 mb but they need a passport or id for activation.

finally, maxroam for their data-only simcards offer these packages.

for EU you can use a german SIM (e.g. Simyo or BLAU) which habe the 50 MB / 7 Days / 5 Euro package...
