![]() I'm a U.S. traveler and have never been able to successfully send a text message to a U.S. mobile phone while traveling overseas using one of the roaming SIMs (Riiing, United Mobile, or now TravelSim). The message seems to go out OK but is never received.
From browsing the forums it appears this may be a common problem. Does anyone know of a workaround? It's not critical, but I'd like to be able to send my wife or kids a text that they can read when they get up rather than waking them with a call at 3 a.m. I'm trying to send text to Verizon Wireless mobiles, if that matters. Thanks for any suggestions. |

![]() Haven't the main problems been with int'l SIMs not being able to send to CDMA phones? I wonder if Mobal would work (considering it is basically an O2 UK post-paid contract line. Maybe standard pre-paid SIMs from the main (as in non-MVNO) operators of wherever you are would work.

![]() You should be able to send to Verizon with an ekit SIM. We have an interconnect with an SMS provider that has coverage with the major CDMA networks. Most SMS providers only support GSM networks.
