![]() I need some UK mobile advice on a contract SIM I have (OVP Virgin). I was looking for a referral to a good UK forum.

![]() Probably the most likely to get useful replies is the uk.telecom.mobile newsgroup
I read and post on it online using Google groups, but that does earn loads of spam into the Gmail account I've set aside for it. (Google's mail filters are very good though) But what do you actually want to ask? I have one of these, and if I can't answer your query myself I can ring them up and ask. Orange no longer have the Orange Value Promise to match other network offers, so getting switched to a different Virgin tariff would be out, I'd expect. The tariff is still pretty good value for landlines, but for cheaper calls to mobiles use it with a callthrough service, which I could expand on. Another guess at subject: mine used to be funded by a credit card mandate, but they tried about 3 times to introduce an extra charge for non direct debit payment, and despite the promises of their Executive Office about this, I switched to DD in the end. |

![]() Andy,
I'm on direct debit from a UK bank account. That is not the issue. I have UK credit, but will not meet the second cut for international roaming. I was wondering if I got a Unik/UMA compatible handset off EBay and put my Orange SIM in it whether I could access my account. |
