![]() I'm going to Europe (UK, Italy, Switzerland, and Greece) with my unlocked 8525. I know about prepaidgsm.net and telcan. Are those the lowest rates I can get away with?
Which local SIM do the fellow travelers amongst you recommend? I used Vodafone before. Besides that, I can get T-Mobile and O2, if I'm not mistaken. Are there any others? So basically I'd like to know which pre-paid SIM to go with, and secondly, which forwarding service. I'd also be interested in finding out if there's a completely different method that I am unaware of. It blows that European cell's are so much more expensive for forwarding calls to than landlines. Is there any way to circumvent that? Thanks for your advice. ![]() |

![]() On this website you can find a lot of information:
- National Operators, i.e. local cards (choose the country you are interested with) - International Operators, i.e. 1 simcard for all countries Then you can find a lot of "experts" here on the forum, expecially for forwarding issues. Consider that in Europe you don't pay for receiving calls so calling a mobile from landline is usually quite expensive. ![]() I am not familiar with forwarding services. HOWEVER, I think you are going to find that the 21 - 25 US cent range is about the going rate for calls forwarded to EU mobile phones. That is the usual calling rate, to EU mobiles although I have seen rates in the 15 cents range on a very few calling cards.
Good luck. Stan Service: US T-MO post paid (2) - US T-MO prepaid (2) - UM+ - TravelSIM DE SIMYO - DE SUNSIM T-Mobile DE Calling Cards: Onesuite Enjoyprepaid AT&T MCI Mobivox |
