To everyone using SKYPE to call IOM 7624 numbers. SKYPE is charging twice the setup fee for calls to 7624 numbers.

They are double-charging the connection fee to plenty of customers, according to a load of whingeing on their forum.

And they are charging some Pro customers per minute for calls that shouldn't be, perhaps for several days after signing up for it.

Clearly they have some problems to iron out.

And the SkypeIn price went up from €30 to €50 a year, almost negating the discount available on this with a Pro account

feb 2007 i started using skype to iom number and made some test calls

feb 2007 i got the following rates

0.34 min 9,5 cents
0.56 min 9.5
1.01 min 11,2

So yes it seems as if i am charged per minute

2-march i made antoher call

1.07 min 7.8 cent

It seems that as of 2 march everything is ok, that is, still charged per minute dus no double connection fee.

That's a mobile number, so 20 Eurocents a minute is pretty reasonable.

CA: SaskTel, Wind postpaid; Rogers, Bell postpaid iPad flex plans; US: T-Mobile postpaid data, prepaid voice; PureTalk (AT&T MVNO) prepaid voice/data; AT&T prepaid iPad plan

Hardware: Too much but notably iPhone 5, iPad Mini Retina LTE, Moto G LTE (N.A. version), iPhone 4. All unlocked.

It seems you missed a very important detail - until recently Skype has charged (probably by mistake) +44 7624 numbers as landlines (1,7 eurocents/min).

I knew that. My point was that the old (clearly erroneous) rate was way too low and the new rate is reasonable.

It's not like Skype is having a huge increase on this rate to be jerks - they're fixing a mistake.

Thumbs up No VAT on Betamax for EU residents - 07-05-2007, 16:47

Good tip on Betamax clones for EU residents. If you register for let example to JUSTVOIP.COM and choose let say USA as you country of residence and fill in any US address, you can top up your account with any credit card(no US CC needed) without paying German VAT as normal EU resident. Why to pay extra 19 percent to German State.

Karol, I'm very sorry that it happened right before you left to Turkey . However, if you are going to still use the forwarding SkypeIn->Manx SIM, you'll anyway pay less for incoming calls than in roaming using any Polish SIM

Be sure to apply for a refund on the SkypeIn number - and remind them a couple of times after a few weeks
