Germany | 3 New Providers For International Calls

Recently three new prepaid providers have rolled out in Germany, who all aim to foreigners in Germany with cheap international tariffs. All three are based on vistream, a new MVNO using E-Plus' EGSM900/GSM1800 network (EGSM900 coverage is modest, since the corresponding license was issued only in spring 2006).

• SUNSIM
  SUNSIM does not only offer relatively cheap international calls during your stay in Germany, but has also relatively cheap roaming rates, so it makes sense using the SIM outside Germany. Compared to United Mobile and other international SIMs, SUNSIM customers are reachable at reasonable rates, since they assign regular German mobile numbers.

Of course rates for the US are absurd, but CHE Mobil seems to be interesting for people traveling primarily to Germany and also when doing side-trips to other European countries.

What about obtaining these sims from outside of Germany? Doe they require a German residence?

Can they be ordered from abroad?

Unfortunaltey not. You'll need a German delivery address, but they won't check it. So giving your hotel's or friend's address should do it.
