![]() Have you seen Mobivox?
I signed up but have not added any funds yet. It's a VIOP service. Calls to members and Skype users are free up to 250 min per week (?) under certain conditions. Local #s in 40 countries. Landline calls 1.9 US cents. One disadvantage right off the top is no DTMF transmission after the call is made. So I cannot retrieve my home or work voicemail with the service. My Onesuite account expires in Feb and I think I am going to drop them and substitute this service. If it does not work out, I can always sign up with Onesuite again. Onesuite calling from overseas is comparatively expensive. You can register foreign mobile numbers and supposedly, they will be recognized. I cannot try that out at this time. With internet access, you can change "registered" numbers. Lowest rate I have seen from anywhere outside Germany to German mobiles - less than 18 cents per min. Expect rates to other EU mobiles is also good. Stan PS. Be glad to invite anyone. I get a bonus credit. You get a 25 cent credit to try out the service. I have made 4 short test calls and my balance is 19 cents. Worked from both REGISTERED home and US mobile #. My mobile is recognized on at least 2 of their "local access" numbers. Service: US T-MO post paid (2) - US T-MO prepaid (2) - UM+ - TravelSIM DE SIMYO - DE SUNSIM T-Mobile DE Calling Cards: Onesuite Enjoyprepaid AT&T MCI Mobivox |

![]() I would say just by call rates and number of local access numbers Rebtel is better. But it doesnt have SKYPE calls and SMS callback service.

Rate to US to Germany, France (my next travel destinations) was about the same on both services. Mobivox has MORE local access numbers in both Germany and France, for instance. Unless I have read the site incorrectly, rebtel calls ALWAYS cost money. With mobivox calls AMONG REGISTERED USERS are FREE under certain conditions (land line to land line, some mobiles including US, skype -- up to 250 minute limit). Thus, if my brother-in-law in Germany registers, my wife could call him FOR FREE @ his residence (land line) from our home phone. He could call us @ home or on mobiles from his mobile FOR THE PRICE OF A LOCAL MOBILE CALL; now, assuming he has "free" or relatively cheap weekend or night minutes, that means 0 international long distance charges. Ditto brother-in-law in Australia and other relatives in Germany.
